News week of 11-25-24

We have reserved Smith Bldg at Camp Kingsley for Dec 13-15 for an overnight.  All of our younger Scouts need camping time and outdoor advancement requirements.

There is no meeting this week. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

We can not meet at Myles on Dec 4 due to a conflict with a school activity.  We will have some form of a meeting. More to come soon.

Important Information for 10-23-2024 Meeting

  • All popcorn Take Order sheets art due in this Wednesday.  Please give them to Ben or Chris.
  • I need to know who is planning on going to the Gaming Weekend at Kingsley on Nov 8-10.  The cost is $40, the troop will pay $20 for the activity fee.  Each attendee will need to pay $20 for food.  We need this Wednesday so that I can register everyone.
  • Nov 1 and 2 is our annual Scouting for Food dates.  We will be collecting food for Feed Our Vets at Chanatry’s on French Rd from 4-8 on Friday the 1st and 8 -11 on Saturday Nov 2nd.  With only 10 Scouts, this is a mandatory service project for everyone.  We will set the schedule on Oct 30.
  • Nov 11th us Veteran’s Day.  We will support our Charter Organization, the NH American Legion Post 1376 during their ceremonies at the NH Veteran’s Park across from Utica National scheduled for 1 PM..

Upcoming Campout Informaton

The International Brother Jamboree is Oct 18-20 at Wellsley Island State Park on the St Lawrence River.  We need to have a good head count by this Wednesday so that we can plan food , equipment, and transportation.  The Troop has paid for the registration fee.  The cost for food will be approximately $15/ PERSON.  Please know if you are going at the start of the meeting.

Announcements week of 9-22-24

The Council’s Gaming weekend will be our outdoor weekend for November.  The troop will cover $20 toward the cost and each participant will be required to cover the other $20 for food.  I need to know who will be attending very soon.  Your $20 food will acknowledge your plan to participant.

We will be holding a Court of Honor this Wednesday  7 PM at Myles.  We have lots of MBs which were earned at summer camp and plan to induct a new Scout.  At least one parent should attend and of course the entire family is welcome.  We will have refreshments.

MB Work Reminder

If you missed last week’s meeting, Mr. Gemza started the Personal Management MB.  He will be there again this Wednesday.  One very  important requirement is to create a budget for the next 3 months then tract income and expenses.

Important Upcoming Dates

There are several dates you should be aware of;

  1. Our first Troop meeting will be Sept 11 7-8:30 at Myles School.
  2. Any adults who want to participate in Outdoor Activities should consider the IOLS Training on 9-21/22.
  3. The Order of the Arrow fall Fellowship is 9/13-15.  James, Noah, Karson & Ben should try to attend .  This is also0 Beaver Day at Kingsley.  Any adults interested in helping with camp maintenance are encouraged to attend.  Sign up for both are on line.
  4. We are signed up for the World Brotherhood Camporee at Wellsley Island  on 10-18-20.  We will need a good head count of Scouts and Leaders by the end of Sept.

Meeting 6-12-24

As a reminder, this Wednesday is the last regular Troop meeting.  We will be conducting a Board of Review for advancements.  You need to submit all of your Merit Badge work this week if you want to get your awards at the picnic on the 19th.

Everyone going to summer camp must have a current BSA Medical with part ‘C. sign by your doctor.  I need to have 2 copies of this form at least a week prior to summer camp.  Any ?? call me.
