We have an adequate number drivers for Saturday but need at least two more to pick up on Sunday 8:30 AM at Kingsley. Peter Obernesser and Bob Tenbrink will be at Myles to organize. Scoutmaster Obernesser will be leaving from home and meet the troop at camp. Please let Peter know if you can pick up on Sunday.

Spring Trip May 20-22, 2016

We have scheduled the spring trip to the Buffalo Area and Niagara Falls for May 20 to 22. We have reserved two cabins at Stonehaven Scout Camp for Friday and Saturday night. We plan on visiting Niagara Falls and ride on the Maid of the Mist on Saturday. On Sunday we will visit the Buffalo Naval and Serviceman’s Park and attend a Buffalo Bisons baseball game. It is a little over 3 hour drive to Stonehaven from New Hartford. I anticipate leaving by 4 PM. The baseball game starts at 1 PM on Sunday and assuming a 3 hour game we should arrive back in New Hartford between 7 and 8 PM. We need to get a list of adults who are willing to drive and a list of scouts who will be attending ASAP so we can order ballgame tickets and get a discount for entry to the Serviceman’s park. The cost of this trip is estimated at $80 per registered scout/leader. The troop treasury will cover $50 of this cost.

2016 District Dinner

From Scoutmaster Obernesser: Please see info below on the District Dinner. The is like a ‘Court of Honor’ for leaders. It would be nice to see a table or two of leaders from Troop 4.

Fellow Scouters,

The flyer also provides a link to nominate your fellow leaders for various awards including the District Award of Merit. With so many good things going right here in our own district, I’m sure you can thing of someone that is worthy of being recognized for their contributions to the scouting program. It is anticipated that this event will be well attended, so please take the time to register early and nominate someone for recognition. In addition to the various awards slated for the evening, we are proud have with us, Oneida County Sherriff Robert Maciol. Sheriff Maciol will be speaking on the positive impact that our program has on those that we serve.
