Holiday Family Adoption and Service Project

Each year our troop adopts a veteran’s family for the holiday season.  We also help unload a food truck and sort food for holiday baskets.  Attached is the information regarding the 3 boys we are adopting.  I will make a spread sheet so that you can choose a gift for this family.  The food box night is Dec 8 at St Thomas Church, just down the road from Myles School.  We need volunteers at the church parish center by 5 PM.  This service project usually take 1 to 1-1/2 hours.

Many scouts are in the rears in their monthly dues, ($1/ month).  Please have them paid ASAP.

World Brotherhood Camporee at Wellsey Island

All:  We have reserved 3 sites which will accommodate 20 people at Wellsey Island State park for September 23-25.  I absolutely need to know if you are planning to go to this great event by the beginning of the troop mtg. thiscoming Wednesday.  We are looking into visiting Boldt Castle on Heart Island on Sunday before heading home.  This trip requires a special BSA Tour Permit showing the number of scouts, adults and drivers to and from.  Please respond to this with a definite yes I am going or no a cannot make it.  The troop will cover the cost of the camporee registration, the boat ride to Heart Island and the admission fee to Boldt Castle.  You should plan on bringing $12 to cover your food costs to the Sept. 14th mtg.  Patrols will be planning, buying and cooking their own meals on this trip.   FYI there will be a trading post sponsored by the Longhouse Council at this event.
